The Yekaterinburg City Hall has cut the budget for the repair of water supply networks by almost 200 billion rubles. This happened after the failure of a 10-year project to upgrade them. This was reported by the Telegram channel Ural Mash.
According to the TG channel, in 2015, the share of worn-out pipes in the city was 37%. At that time, officials approved in the infrastructure development program that it needed to be reduced to 28% over 10 years. By 2026, the networks due for replacement have reached 40%. In the new project, the city hall acknowledged this.
Over the next 20 years, the administration plans to reduce the indicator for worn-out pipes to 30%. This is worse than it was supposed to be even last year. It is also specified that the authorities have allocated 171 billion rubles less for this than in the previous decade.
It was previously reported that the wear of most of Yekaterinburg's water supply networks has reached 70-100%.
