A new civilian Il-114-300 has arrived at Innoprom.
Yesterday at 5:45 PM, upon arrival in Yekaterinburg for the Innoprom strategic session, an experienced sample of the upgraded civilian Il-114-300 aircraft was presented to Mikhail Mishustin, reports the Telegram channel "Government of Russia."
The Moscow—Yekaterinburg flight was conducted as part of flight testing and demonstrated good fuel efficiency results. A total of over 180 flights have been performed on two prototype aircrafts as part of the flight test program.
The modernized version is assembled from Russian-made components and equipped with Russian systems and equipment. Passenger capacity is up to 68 people. The cruising speed of the upgraded Il-114-300 is 450-500 km/h, with a maximum flight altitude of 7.6 kilometers.
The modernization and serial production resumption program of the regional passenger aircraft Il-114-300 is carried out under the directive of the President of Russia.
As Vadim Badeha, General Director of United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC UAC), explained, the aircraft is specifically designed for domestic airlines, with the capability to operate in hard-to-reach regions with limited airport infrastructure.
Currently, the aircraft is in the certification stage. UAC plans to obtain the certification in December of this year and to launch the aircraft into serial production.
