The information about the death of the Yekaterinburg resident was confirmed by his acquaintance Evgeny Proshkin. According to him, Anton Derbenev was fatally injured in a traffic accident in Donetsk on July 17. As Proshkin told E1.RU, he flew to the zone of the special military operation.
The farewell to the deceased, according to E1.RU, will take place on July 23 in Yevpatoria.
Derbenev worked as a journalist in the 2010s, then became a public figure, reports EAN. In 2018, he ran for mayor of Yekaterinburg.
A year later, in May 2019, when TV host Vladimir Solovyov called the residents of Yekaterinburg "devils" during events in the square near the Drama Theatre, Derbenev publicly promised to give him a "firm Ural slap across the lying lips," for which he announced a fundraiser for his trip to Moscow. There, the two journalists met in a cafe and had a peaceful conversation.
