Media: Regional editor of URA.RU detained – witness in the Denis Allayrov case
Yesterday at 12:32 in Yekaterinburg, the regional editor of URA.RU was detained this morning, reports E1.RU. Igor Sergeev's lawyers managed to inform him that he is being taken to a questioning at the Investigative Committee, sources within the editorial office said.
Sergeev's lawyers were able to inform him that he is being taken for a detective interrogation. His defenders have not been able to see him yet.
Igor Sergeev is a witness in the case of another URA.RU editor, Denis Allayarov, who is in a pre-trial detention center.
Editor of the Sverdlovsk editorial office, Denis Allayarov, is accused of bribing a police officer—former head of the criminal investigation department of OP No. 10 of the UOMB in Yekaterinburg, Andrey Karpov, who is related to Allayarov as an uncle. Meanwhile, the former police officer has been placed under house arrest.
Today’s detention of the Yekaterinburg journalist occurred amid searches and detentions at the Moscow-based Telegram channel Baza. The operational activities, reportedly, may be related to a criminal case involving the sale of closed operational reports to journalists of Baza by police officers in three regions of the Russian Federation.
