July 31 could have been the last day of operation for the ice cream kiosks in Yekaterinburg. Previously, some of the booths had already been closed due to expired lease agreements.

The first three kiosks from the local cold storage plant No. 3 ceased operations back in mid-June — on Starykh Bolshevikov, Kultury, and Baumana streets. Their leases expired at the end of June, and on July 31, the lease terms for the remaining 24 locations also ended.
Now, entrepreneurs need to participate in auctions to secure new places. However, as Alexander Rias, Executive Director of the "Our City’s Ice Cream" network, previously told E1.RU, the new placement schemes for retail outlets do not include spaces for ice cream kiosks.
— The kiosks will be temporarily closed, but we hope they will reopen later. The administration has been accommodating and is ready to conduct auctions specifically for ice cream booths, — said Alexander Rias.
This applies not only to their network but also to the federal brand "Russian Cold."
Earlier, authorities explained why they decided to remove the kiosks: many of them were positioned with safety violations.
Deputy Mayor Dmitry Nozhenko clarified that about 500 points of sale (not only selling ice cream) in the city were located above gas pipelines, which is prohibited. The official assured that new, safe locations are being sought for them.
It is also worth noting that in Yekaterinburg, the dismantling of "Rospicati" kiosks is proceeding quite actively. The Commissioner for Human Rights in Sverdlovsk Region, Tatyana Merzlyakova, has even intervened in this matter.
Now, the TYUZ is on Izoplit street: in Yekaterinburg, old kiosks from other streets are being installed where the demolished bus stops used to be.
Regarding the ongoing issues: the mass dismantling of bus stops in Yekaterinburg has been called "vandalism."
"Ordinary redistribution": Yekaterinburg residents commented on the mass demolition of kiosks in the city streets.
Deputies have called to halt the uncontrolled dismantling of bus stops in Yekaterinburg.
"Streets of the dismantled stops." The head of Yekaterinburg, Orlov, was targeted with negative publicity.
In Vtuzi City, a cemetery of dismantled kiosks has been discovered.
Yekaterinburg Mayor Alexey Orlov instructed district heads to stop dismantling awnings at bus stops during kiosk removals.
There will be only 75 kiosks left in Yekaterinburg for the entire city.
