At Ural Pipe Plant, a worker was denied voluntary resignation through a mutual agreement despite the absence of orders
Today at 16:55, at Ural Pipe Plant, employees' salaries were cut. This was reported to Ura.Ru by one of the employees. The reason is the lack of orders.
One of the employees requested management to dismiss him with compensation, but was refused.
— There’s no work, and there’s no money. The plant has been idle for four months; there are no orders. I get 30,000 rubles, but before with bonuses, it reached 80-90 thousand. They call us to work, and we just sit there, sometimes sweep, paint, or clean metal pieces. But I can’t do this for long; how am I supposed to feed my family? — the plant worker said in confusion.
Eventually, the man submitted a resignation letter through a mutual agreement and requested to terminate the contract with a compensation payment of three times his average monthly salary. However, he was refused.
— They told me: “We’re not laying you off; there are no grounds. If you want, write the resignation voluntarily. Otherwise, suffer!” — added the machine operator.
The Ural resident is planning to pursue voluntary dismissal.
Recall that in spring, information about mass layoffs at Ural Pipe Plant emerged. According to several employees, the management decided to cut more than 500 people, and over a hundred are already unemployed.
However, workers claim that the layoffs are not being officially conducted and are forcing employees to submit resignation letters voluntarily. Nevertheless, the company reports that the plant is operating in regular mode:
— Staff rotation does not differ from previous periods. Moreover, the number of dismissed employees is currently less than in 2024. As of today, only recruitment has been halted, which is related to the staffing level — explained the plant’s press service.
