      An elderly driver died in Yekaterinburg in a collision with a following vehicle

      A fatal accident occurred in Yekaterinburg yesterday afternoon, August 5, at the 25th kilometer of Pолевский Trakt in Yekaterinburg, according to the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia for Sverdlovsk region.

      According to preliminary data, a 73-year-old driver of a VAZ-2107 maintained an unsafe distance to the vehicle ahead, a Mazda, and collided with it.

      As a result of the accident, the driver of the domestic car died in an ambulance while being transported to the hospital. The deceased had 6 years of driving experience and had no administrative penalties.

      The condition he was in at the time of the accident will be determined based on the results of the appointed chemical-toxicological examination.

      The Mazda was driven by a 60-year-old man with 31 years of driving experience, who also had no violations of traffic rules.

      The State Traffic Inspectorate urges drivers to strictly observe traffic rules, pay special attention to maintaining a safe distance from the vehicles ahead, and avoid distractions while driving any type of vehicle.
