Today at 10:39, doctors from the Central City Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Yekaterinburg saved the life of a patient who was engaged in self-treatment, according to the Sverdlovsk Region Ministry of Health.

According to doctors, a 38-year-old city resident attempted to treat himself over two days, which led to him arriving at the medical facility in a critical condition.
"An extensive purulent peritonitis developed against the background of ulcer perforation, which is extremely dangerous in itself. The situation was complicated by septic shock, multiple organ failure, and spontaneous pneumothorax," cited the hospital’s press service, quoting Head of Surgical Department No. 3 at CGKB No. 1, Helman Shafiev.
The patient was saved over 20 days, during which he underwent five surgeries. He is now preparing for discharge.
Earlier, medics saved a young Yekaterinburg resident who had a collision while riding an electric scooter.
