Security forces detained another member of the gang from the Kamensk car wash. He had been placed on the federal wanted list.
Another suspect in the high‑profile car wash case from Kamensk‑Uralsky has been detained in Sverdlovsk Oblast. He turned out to be 22‑year‑old Alexander Bespalov. Recall that several weeks ago he was placed on the federal wanted list. Previously he had attended questioning and generally cooperated with the investigation.
Law enforcement have so far not commented on the detentions or what charges have been brought against Bespalov, reports the E1.RU portal.
According to the publication, Bespalov took part in at least one of the kidnappings. For example, the detainee was in the group when one of the factory employees was shoved into a trunk, taken to a deserted place, beaten, humiliated, and threatened with being doused in gasoline and set on fire.
The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg has already remanded Bespalov in custody.
— The preventive measure previously chosen by the investigator in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the area has been changed by the court to pretrial detention. The defendant has been remanded in custody until October 5, 2025, inclusive, — the joint press service of the courts of Sverdlovsk Oblast reported.
According to the official data of the investigation, there are already 14 suspects in the high‑profile criminal case. All are accused of kidnappings and extortion.
Recall that the gang only became known when its members drove two women to a car wash, where they were beaten and doused with water and foam. The preliminary cause of the incident was a conflict between gang member David Anashkin and one of the victims.
