Residents of a Yekaterinburg high-rise are walking up to their apartments for fear the elevator will collapse.
Residents of Yekaterinburg complained about broken elevators in an apartment building in Svetly — in the 25‑story building they are operating intermittently, getting stuck and stopping.
The problem has been going on for several months. Some people climb to their floor on foot.
— It's scary to fall in one of them or to get stuck. This happens in both entrances of the building. A bunch of service requests have been filed, but nothing changes. A couple of elevators have been dead weight for six months, the others work for a few days, then break down, — a local resident complained to the E1.RU portal.
The management company "Ogni‑Service" said there had been reports of elevator breakdowns in the building.
— In September we will replace the traction components and the circuit board that failed. The management company is purchasing the missing parts at its own expense; the spare parts are being sent by parcel from China. Unfortunately, we are dependent on logistics here. When residents raise critical concerns — we stop elevator operation for their safety, — Ogni‑Service said.
Still, of the six elevators in the two entrances only one is out of service, so the situation is not as bad as the residents describe.
Recall that in January in the Uralmash district half the elevators in a high‑rise building broke down.
