Another 170 million rubles will be allocated for the expansion of the EKAD.

      The authorities of Sverdlovsk Oblast will allocate an additional 170 million rubles to widen the northern semicircle of the Yekaterinburg Ring Road (EKAD). New exits will also be added. This was reported by acting governor Denis Pasler on his Telegram channel.

      "The funds are needed to take into account all the residents' requests: the project has been amended to include exits to the Progress and Zvezdochka garden plots, access roads to several other garden plots, and new overpasses," Pasler writes.

      The decision to increase funding is linked to the rise in traffic load on the northern section of the EKAD. Traffic intensity in the area of the 10th kilometer of the road has risen in recent years from 30 to 40 thousand vehicles per day.

      Recall that instead of a two‑lane road, six lanes will be arranged with separation of opposing flows. After reconstruction it will be a top road category — the so‑called 1B. Widening the carriageway will require reconstruction of existing interchanges and bridges. Work will be divided into four stages:

      Stage 1: 10th–12th kilometer — reconstruction and widening of the road from the parallel (service) road of the Siberian Tract to the overpass at the 12th kilometer (SNT "Rosinka" area). These works should be completed by summer 2026;

      Stage 2: 12th–20th kilometer — reconstruction and widening of the road from the intersection with Vysotsky Street (the road to the Novo‑Sverdlovskaya CHP) to the Beryozovsky Tract;

      Stage 3: 20th–22nd kilometer — construction of an interchange at the intersection with the Beryozovsky Tract, widening of the bridge at the 21st kilometer;

      Stage 4: 22nd–24th kilometer — construction of an interchange at the intersection with the Rezhovsky Tract.
