A venomous spider was spotted in Yekaterinburg.
In the Akademichesky district, a local resident came across a large, brightly colored spider near the building at 23 Yevgeny Savkov Street. The unusual find alarmed the man, and he took a photo to find out how dangerous the creature might be.
Media outlet E1 showed the image to arachnologist Tatyana Manzor. The specialist assured there was no reason to panic: the photo showed a cross spider.
"It's venomous, but not dangerous to humans. At worst, a bite may feel like a wasp sting, and only if there is no allergy. But the likelihood of this is small — cross spiders have teeth that are too small. Their venom poses a threat only to small reptiles," Manzor explained.
Earlier, a venomous wasp spider was spotted in Kamensk-Uralsky.
