The wife of acting vice‑governor Oleg Chemezov was placed under house arrest. The decision was issued by the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg.
The press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk Region reported that Irina Chemezova is accused under the article “Fraud committed by an organized group or on a particularly large scale.” The maximum penalty is up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
The restrictive measure has been set until November 1, the court clarified.
According to E1.RU, the Chemezovs were also implicated in the high‑profile case involving oligarchs Artyom Bikov and Alexey Bobrov.
Meanwhile, today law enforcement officers raided the office of Oblkommunenergo in Yekaterinburg. Earlier we reported that an inventory of assets was being conducted at the URA.RU editorial office. Rumors have also emerged that the publication may be under threat.
