Banks in Yekaterinburg announced an urgent collection of small change.

In Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Region, from September 22 to October 4, people will be able to exchange small change for banknotes. To get rid of coins, you need to go to chain stores or a bank.

At credit institutions, you will be able to exchange small change for banknotes or have the money credited to an account, but you will need to show a passport for that. Coins in denominations from one kopek to 25 rubles can be exchanged. There are no limits on the quantity or total amount of small change handed in, nor on their condition — you can bring darkened, scratched, bent, and drilled coins. They just have to be modern money issued since 1997.

The Central Bank clarified that it holds such campaigns twice a year to return small change to circulation, writes E1.RU.

Earlier we reported that residents of the Sverdlovsk Region collected small change totaling 3.4 million rubles.
