The cafeteria in one of UrGPU's buildings was closed. Students declared a boycott.

Students at UrGPU complained that because of an inconvenient schedule and the location of the buildings they do not have time to have lunch between classes.

The university has several buildings. The canteen at 11 Mashinostroiteley Street was closed, and there is nowhere to heat food.

"Since the beginning of the academic year the schedule was changed, reducing lunch time from 40 to 25 minutes. The nearest shop is a ten-minute brisk walk away. After a year of study you can develop stomach and digestive problems. We demand that the schedule for our building be reinstated," one of the students told the E1.RU portal.

There are not even snack vending machines in the university building on Mashinostroiteley.

The university press service reported that classes at the college on 75 Taganskaya and in the building at 11 Mashinostroiteley begin at 8:00 a.m., while in the buildings on Kosmonavtov and 9a Karla Libknekhta they begin at 8:30 a.m.

"The canteen requires major repairs and replacement of equipment. The university is preparing an application for additional funding. The administration is taking measures to organize a space equipped with microwave ovens, hot-water dispensers and the necessary furniture for dining," UrGPU said.

They also promised to install vending machines with coffee, tea and snacks in the building on Mashinostroiteley.

Earlier in Yekaterinburg students began to be heavily fined en masse for parking near the university.
