Three residents of Perm were detained on suspicion of stealing 9 million rubles from a pensioner from Chelyabinsk. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chelyabinsk Region.
— Law enforcement agencies of the Chelyabinsk Region detained in Yekaterinburg three Perm residents aged 19 to 25 on suspicion of fraud causing particularly large damage. According to the investigation, the perpetrators acted on the instructions of handlers who convinced an 80-year-old resident of Chelyabinsk to hand over 9 million rubles to them, — the police said.
The suspects, who acted as driver, courier and operator, took the money and fled toward Yekaterinburg, where they were detained with the assistance of their Sverdlovsk counterparts. About 220,000 rubles were seized from them. A criminal case has been opened on suspicion of committing fraud on a particularly large scale.
