The crash was caused by an 18-year-old student at an Yekaterinburg college who did not have a driver's license.
According to preliminary information, while driving a VAZ-2113 without a license, the 18-year-old struck a 38-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the roadway at an undesignated location. As the driver told traffic inspectors, he noticed the pedestrian at the last moment.
The man died at the scene from his injuries. It is already known that the deceased, having left work briefly, was walking to a shop.
It was established that the pedestrian crossed the road at night in conditions of poor visibility while wearing dark clothing without any reflective elements. Wet asphalt after the rain and limited visibility were factors that contributed to the incident.
