Another 150 new buses will be delivered to Yekaterinburg by the end of the year.

Yekaterinburg’s bus fleet will be supplemented with 150 new vehicles by the end of the year. The first of them will hit the routes as early as October, the city administration’s press service said on Monday.

The buses are being purchased by Yekaterinburg carriers under the State Transport Leasing Company’s program as part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life.” The program allows carriers operating in the public transport sector to acquire new rolling stock through leasing on preferential terms.

In total, 150 new vehicles will arrive in the Ural capital under this program in 2025: 130 mid-class buses (70 seats) and 20 large-class buses (more than 90 seats).

Altogether, the program will save 685 million rubles: the discount on each mid-class bus will be 4.3 million rubles, and on each large-class bus — 6.3 million rubles.

The first 14 buses purchased have already arrived at transport enterprises and will begin operating on routes in early October.

The fleet renewal is part of the city’s transport reform. Just this year, Gortrans purchased 50 new trolleybuses, 15 three-section trams and 15 extra-large articulated buses.

Recall that at the end of last year a six-year program aimed at ensuring road traffic safety ended. It has been replaced by the new national project “Infrastructure for Life.”
