A large-scale power outage occurred in Yekaterinburg.
Uralmash and Elmash were left without electricity on Saturday afternoon due to a major power grid accident.
Because of the power outage, shops closed, including the Veer Mall shopping center. Traffic lights are not working, and traffic jams have already begun to form on the roads, reports URA.RU.
Trams on route 333 (Yekaterinburg — Verkhnyaya Pyshma) have also stopped running.
“Today, as a result of unauthorized actions by a construction company, a 110 kV power transmission line was damaged.
As a result, residents and social facilities in two Yekaterinburg neighborhoods — Uralmash and Elmash — were left partially without power,” Rosseti Ural told the “Incident Yekaterinburg” public page. “Rosseti Ural’s power crews are on site, and the necessary special equipment is being mobilized to eliminate the technical fault.
Power supply to social facilities will be restored shortly using backup schemes. Full power supply is planned to be restored by the end of today, as repair work is required to restore the conductor at the power facility.”
