The principal of a Sverdlovsk school forced the teachers to take out loans and hand over all the money to her.
In the village of Ayat in the Nevyansky district, former school principal Elena Yakovleva persuaded almost the entire teaching staff to take out large loans for her. For each person she invented "plausible" reasons: her son's wedding, renovations, relatives' illnesses, accidents, arrests. Colleagues believed her and took out the loans: the geography teacher borrowed 300,000 rubles, the math teacher 400,000 rubles, the Russian teacher 800,000 rubles, and the primary school teacher 1 million rubles.
At first the headmistress did indeed transfer money to cover the payments, but after her dismissal in December 2024 she stopped responding. Now the teachers are forced to repay the loans themselves, and some have taken part-time jobs as cleaners.
For example, one teacher went into debt a few months before retiring. She didn't even know how to use the banking app — Elena Ivanovna taught her.
"Now I mop floors in the evenings to get by. My monthly payment is 12,500 rubles, the cleaner's salary is 13,000 rubles — I give all my money. My husband doesn't know that I took this loan," the pensioner told the portal E1.RU.
After her dismissal embezzlement of the school budget was uncovered: Yakovleva illegally processed payments for 14 days of work to another teacher and received a two-year suspended sentence for it. The teachers are convinced they were victims of fraud. As a result, the case materials were handed over to the Investigative Committee. Lawyers believe the teachers can recover damages through the courts.
Earlier it was reported that in Yekaterinburg a couple lost 11 million rubles and their apartment after a call from a factory manager.
