Early on October 7 a tragedy occurred on the Verkhnyaya Pyshma bypass — a person was killed under the wheels of an intercity bus. At the time of the incident there were no passengers on board.
According to the regional traffic police (GIBDD), the 59-year-old driver of a private Yutong bus was driving along the road when a pedestrian — a man in dark clothing without reflective elements — suddenly ran onto the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid the collision.
The pedestrian died of his injuries at the scene before an ambulance arrived. His identity has not yet been established.
GIBDD inspectors continue to work at the scene, establishing all the circumstances of the accident. Due to investigative actions, traffic on the section is temporarily restricted — vehicles are being allowed through one lane toward Yekaterinburg.
