A court in Yekaterinburg upheld the Prosecutor General's Office's claim to nationalize Oblkommunenergo.
The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg granted the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to nationalize Oblkommunenergo, KP-Yekaterinburg reported on Friday.
In its suit the Prosecutor General’s Office asked that more than 80 companies belonging to businessmen Artem Bikov and Alexey Bobrov be turned over to the state. According to law enforcement, Oblkommunenergo ended up in private hands thanks to “informal ties with the heads of federal and regional government bodies.”
The total value of the seized assets is estimated at 2 billion rubles. They included shareholdings in STS Corporation, Oblkommunenergo, the Siberian-Ural Energy Company, Agro-Klever, and the Business House on Arkhiyereyskaya.
