In Yekaterinburg, a court has handed down a verdict against another member of the gang whose members committed 11 murders 25 years ago. Today, October 10, the defendant Oleg Anuchin appeared in the dock.
As part of a gang, assembled from employees of the Kirovsky District Department of Internal Affairs (RUVD) by the head of the unit for illegal drug trafficking, Vladislav Sobol, Anuchin took part in a contract killing on Avtomagistralnaya Street, as well as in the murder of a merchant who had arrived with a large sum of money to purchase goods at the "Tagansky Ryad" market, and his acquaintance.
"In the latter case he personally lured the victim into a trap, taking advantage of the acquaintance," the press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court noted.
"In November 2000, other members of the gang received information from Anuchin that his acquaintance was arriving in Yekaterinburg with a large sum of money to purchase goods. As a result, the gang members formed the intent to carry out an armed robbery against the victim.
Anuchin met his acquaintance at the railway station, after which he drove the acquaintance and the woman with whom the victim had arranged to meet to a house on Pekhotintsev Street in Yekaterinburg. At the same time other members of the gang arrived at that house. Anuchin remained in the car.
Subsequently other members of the gang killed the man and the woman, seizing the victim's money in the amount of not less than 250,000 rubles, which was later divided among the gang members in amounts of not less than 50,000 rubles each," the Sverdlovsk Region Prosecutor's Office said.
The Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Yekaterinburg found Anuchin guilty under subparagraphs "zh" and "z" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed for hire, combined with robbery and banditry by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), and under subparagraphs "b" and "v" of Part 3 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, with the use of weapons, for the purpose of taking property, on a large scale).
Under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Oleg Anuchin was sentenced to 9.5 years in a maximum-security penal colony. At the same time, the court exempted him from serving the sentence under Part 3 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for prosecution.
"The gang, distinguished by particular cynicism, included five people, three of whom at the time held operational positions in the police," the Sverdlovsk Regional Court noted.
In September the organizer of the gang, Vladislav Sobol, was sentenced to 16 years in a maximum-security penal colony; gang member Vladimir Semenyuk to 9 years in a maximum-security penal colony; gang member Konstantin Kotik to 8 years in a maximum-security penal colony.
