Meteorologists are forecasting a cold snap with wet snow in Sverdlovsk Oblast, the regional traffic police warned drivers in the region yesterday and advised them to start switching tires.
"This week, according to meteorologists, air temperatures in Sverdlovsk Oblast will drop to -3 degrees. Wet snow is expected," the traffic police said.
The traffic police remind that summer tires begin to harden and lose their elasticity already at +7 °C.
"Road grip deteriorates sharply, braking distance increases and the risk of aquaplaning on wet roads rises," the agency added.
