Law enforcement reported the detention of a man convicted of raping a schoolgirl.

      The search for and arrest of one of the men convicted of raping a 15‑year‑old schoolgirl was carried out by operatives from the criminal investigation unit of the Alapaevsk police department together with colleagues from the regional FSIN. According to Valeriy Gorelykh, press secretary of the Sverdlovsk regional headquarters of the Interior Ministry, the rapist was taken in one of the private houses on the outskirts of Alapaevsk.

      "The 'strawberry' lover, better known in certain circles as 'Ryzhiy' or 'Shanya,' decided to lie low in a relative's house on Furmanov Street. Previously he had been hiding in other places. Investigators swooped on the address at 19:10. The homeowners fibbed, saying they hadn't seen Alexander for a long time. The suspicious tone of their answers prompted representatives of the FSIN and the Interior Ministry to search the house. The officers' intuition did not fail. Not yet knowing that the person they were looking for was hiding under the sofa, the investigators entered the premises. The convict quickly climbed out of his hiding place and, barefoot, made for the window, hoping to make a hasty escape once more. An ambush in the yard had long been waiting for him, and he immediately fell into it. The convict has now been placed in a cell in the temporary detention facility of the Alapaevsk police department," Colonel Gorelykh noted.

      Recall that 32‑year‑old Alexander Shangin, convicted of raping a 15‑year‑old schoolgirl, was found guilty on October 6, 2025, but did not appear in court on the day the sentence was announced. The court sentenced him to 11 years and six months in a maximum‑security penal colony, and he was declared wanted. Shangin and his friend Alexander Bykov (convicted of sexually violent acts against the same schoolgirl) went into hiding.
