In Revda a granddaughter deceived her own grandfather by replacing 500,000 rubles with novelty banknotes from a gag bank. The pensioner saved part of his pension each month for a rainy day, not noticing that his granddaughter was swapping the real banknotes for fake ones. When the grandfather discovered the switch, he filed a report with the police. This happened in February 2025. Ultimately the woman was convicted under the article "Theft". She later confessed everything to her relative and returned all the money. The pensioner filed a petition stating that they had reconciled and that he did not want his granddaughter prosecuted. The court then softened the sentence and, instead of a custodial term, imposed a 40,000-ruble fine on Ekaterina, but she was even exempted from that punishment. Earlier, fraudsters had forced a pensioner from Sverdlovsk Oblast to sell her apartment.
In Yekaterinburg, PPS patrol officers, while on patrol, detained a spa salon chambermaid who had been hiding mephedrone in her underwear. The incident occurred on October 11 on Polezhayeva Street, opposite house 26.
— The police took the woman to the duty station, where, in the presence of witnesses, they seized the "powder" and sent it for analysis. The detainee turned out to be a 50-year-old local woman previously convicted of fraud, who works as a chambermaid in one of Yekaterinburg's spa salons, the press group of the Yekaterinburg Interior Ministry reported.
The seized substance was the synthetic drug mephedrone weighing 0.67 grams. The suspect admitted she had acquired it for personal use. A criminal case has been opened against the woman by the police investigation department under the article "Illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs in a significant amount." She faces up to three years in prison.
