The Yekaterinburg–Tyumen highway will open in 2026.
By 2026, it is planned to extend the federal M-12 "Vostok" highway, which connects Moscow and Yekaterinburg, to Tyumen, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
Khusnullin noted that in the coming years the main focus will be on repair work, but one of the key infrastructure projects will be the continuation of the M-12 highway. Parts of the route will be opened to traffic as early as 2025.
"Next year we will focus on repairs, but one of the main tasks will be extending the route to Tyumen. In addition, we will implement hundreds of local projects that are important for the regions and in demand by residents," EAN quotes Marat Khusnullin as saying.
Recall that plans have emerged to build a second transport ring around Tyumen in the period from 2026 to 2029. The new road will be 20 km long and will consist of four stages. It will become part of the M-12 "Vostok" motorway.
