Sverdlovsk residents have lost access to messaging apps en masse.
Residents of Sverdlovsk Oblast reported glitches in the operation of the popular messengers Telegram and WhatsApp*, as well as the social network Snapchat, according to data from DownDetector.
Users complain that the apps do not open, do not send or download messages and media files. Many have stopped receiving notifications. The outage affected both mobile and desktop versions of the services.
Connection problems are being recorded not only in the Urals, but also in Adygea, North Ossetia–Alania, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais, and in Rostov Oblast. The issues have been observed since the evening of October 21.
*WhatsApp is owned by Meta, which has been designated an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation.
Earlier, residents of Yekaterinburg also experienced problems with mobile internet, but that was related to a response mode declared in our region due to a possible drone attack.
