The mother of one of the affected fifth-graders, Alyona, spoke with the portal E1.RU. The harassment has lasted more than five years — since first grade. Classmates made fun of the boy for being overweight. They also tease him for studying too diligently.
"We and the other parents call these three a gang. We filed complaints about them with the principal and the juvenile affairs unit (PDN). They always attack in a group of three. During breaks they force my son to leave the classroom and take him to a hallway where there are no cameras or adults and start beating him. Then they order him to go behind the garages to a meeting/fight," the Yekaterinburg resident complained to the media.
At the same time this boy is not the only one being tormented. If he is sick, the bullies turn their attention to another classmate — a small, thin boy. Parents asked for the ringleader of the trio to be transferred to another school, but no one did anything.
The most recent clashes occurred on October 16 and 20. The boy returned home and that same evening he became ill. They also tried to contact the offenders' parents, but that also led nowhere.
Alyona appealed to the Sverdlovsk Investigative Committee; together with other parents she wrote collective complaints to the school.
The press service of the Yekaterinburg mayor's office said they began looking into the conflict on October 22.
"Until that day the school had not received any information from the child or his mother. The school arranged a meeting with the child's mother. The parents of the other participant in the conflict were also invited to a meeting to clarify the circumstances," the city administration clarified.
Earlier a crowd of schoolchildren kicked a peer in the Sverdlovsk region.
