A female blogger from Yekaterinburg was detained at Koltsovo and all her belongings were seized.

Yekaterinburg blogger Maria, who flew in from Dubai, was detained at Koltsovo. The woman had bought new items abroad but, she admitted, had overdone it. She tried to explain to customs officers that she had bought everything for herself.

"On all the stands it says: you can carry up to 50 kilograms if expenses are up to $10,000. Everything regarding the purchases from Dubai complied, there are such discounts and promotions there. I bought ten of each item; until that moment customs started hassling me," the woman told the E1.RU portal.

Many items were seized from Maria and her acquaintances' checked and carry-on luggage.

"The interrogation and seizure lasted 12 hours, without food. I did not admit guilt because I will use all of this for personal purposes, not for sale. I don't have a shop, I'm a blogger, I wanted to film flash mobs. They decided it was a commercial consignment; they also took single items," the blogger added.

The Yekaterinburg resident wanted to remove the factory packaging from the items but left the tags as proof that the items were not expensive. She spent about 60,000 rubles in total.

The press service of the Ural Customs Directorate reported that three people brought nearly 89 kilograms of new items into Koltsovo without declaring them.

"All of them had new items in their checked and carry-on luggage, with tags, trademarks, various size ranges (of one model) and assorted types. Based on the results of the customs inspection and the citizens' explanations, it was established that all three individuals know each other and claim that allegedly all the goods belong to one of the women. According to the results of the customs inspection, it was found that for each of the air passengers who arrived on the Dubai–Yekaterinburg flight, the carry-on and checked baggage were registered directly to them and all the new items were also purchased by them," customs said.

Although the Yekaterinburg residents claimed they were not engaged in commercial activity, customs officers did not classify the property as goods for personal use.

Earlier at Koltsovo, 34 kilograms of costume jewelry were found on two passengers from China.
