A major "non-accident" occurred on the heating networks in Yekaterinburg.
Heating in 124 apartment buildings was disrupted yesterday in Yekaterinburg due to a pipeline accident on Blucher Street, KP-Yekaterinburg reports, citing the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the district heating company, the damage to the pipeline does not constitute a municipal utility emergency. The problem is being addressed promptly; a crew of 15 people and five units of equipment are working on site. Thirty meters of pipeline under the roadway need to be replaced. On the night of October 28, indoor temperatures in residential premises will be lowered to 18°C, the publication reports.
"The return pipeline remains in operation; heating is being supplied on a reduced-flow scheme," the EMERCOM directorate noted. According to the agency, heating has been disrupted in 124 apartment buildings, three schools, and five healthcare facilities.
