Teenagers posted online footage of their attack on an adult man in Botanica.
Alexander Bastrykin requested a report from the Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk Region on the progress of the criminal investigation into the unlawful actions of teenagers in Yekaterinburg, the regional investigative directorate of the Investigative Committee reported.
The trigger for opening a criminal case under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism) was a video from social networks showing a group of teenagers beating an adult man at the "Shvarts" bus stop. The reason for the attack may have been a request to the minors not to violate public order.
According to the Telegram channel "SVET Yekaterinburg," the man asked them not to smoke and not to use obscene language. In response, the teenagers knocked him down onto the asphalt and began kicking him. It is noted that people were present at the bus stop at the time, but no one rushed to help the victim.
The teenagers uploaded the video to the internet themselves, overlaying it with "meme" effects, SVET Yekaterinburg notes.
The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, Bogdan Frantsishko, to present a report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the established circumstances.
