The parents of the girl who survived in Revda spoke about the family of the deceased sisters.
Residents of Revda have been bringing flowers, memorial candles and toys all day to the spot where a drunk driver ran over and killed two little sisters, aged 7 and 9, on the previous evening. The parents of the older, 11-year-old friend of the dead children, who survived and is in hospital, also came to the impromptu memorial.
As the mother of the surviving girl told KP‑Yekaterinburg, her daughter and the girls who died all attended the same dance class. After buying treats at Monetka, the friends were saying goodbye while standing at the traffic light — they had to go in different directions.
An eyewitness told the publication that he took the surviving girl off the hood. "I wouldn't wish anyone — not even my worst enemy — to see what was under the wheels," the man said.
According to the eyewitness, when they opened the car door to pull the driver out, bottles flew out of the interior. "He was simply not in his right mind, out of his mind." Even on social media, 37‑year‑old Mikhail posted photos of himself holding a bottle.
As a family friend, to whom enormous grief came yesterday, told KP‑Yekaterinburg, the girls who died were raised by their mother. The parents were divorced, but the father took an active part in raising the daughters. "Now they have no one left," the interlocutor told KP.
At the supermarket where Anna and Kira's lives were cut short, heaps of fresh flowers and soft toys have grown. So many people have come that a traffic police unit has blocked traffic near the memorial.
