A Magnit store burned down as a result of a gas cylinder leak in Surgut.
The fire broke out in an annex to the Magnit store in Surgut (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra), subsequently spreading to the main supermarket building, Kommersant‑Ural reports.
According to the district EMERCOM, a household gas cylinder became depressurized in the annex. Twelve people evacuated themselves from the building.
As a result of the fire, four people were injured and handed over to an ambulance crew.
"The report of a fire caused by the depressurization of a household gas cylinder was received at 12:16. The fire spread over an area of about 250 sq. m; the roof collapsed. During firefighting operations, firefighters evacuated 40 gas cylinders. Open burning was extinguished at 13:30," the regional Main Directorate of the Russian EMERCOM said.
Magnit said the fire occurred in the bakery adjacent to the store, Kommersant‑Ural reports.
