A high-speed toll motorway will connect Yekaterinburg with Krasnodar.
Avtodor unveiled an updated design for a high-speed highway that will connect Krasnodar with Tyumen. The new route will bypass Volgograd, Saratov, Tolyatti, Samara and pass through Bavly in Tatarstan. The route will terminate at the M-12 "Vostok" highway, which will provide access to Yekaterinburg and then on to Tyumen. The trip will be cut by almost half: instead of 33 hours the journey will take about 15 hours.
The highway is planned to be four- or six-lane. Its total length will be 1,192 kilometers, and the road will be tolled.
According to Expert Yug magazine, 1.7 billion rubles have been allocated for the project’s implementation. These funds are included in the company’s program through 2030, although construction may take longer. Exact deadlines will be set after the design is completed.
Earlier it was reported that a high-speed line will be built between Yekaterinburg and Moscow.
