In Yekaterinburg on Thursday, November 20, the trial begins in the criminal case of a mother accused of causing the death of an infant through her negligence.
According to investigators, in early August this year the accused, Viktoria Vazhenina, while at home in the evening and intoxicated, was putting her 4‑month‑old child to bed.
After placing the child in the crib she began to rock it vigorously. As a result of the vigorous rocking the infant fell out through the crib's open side and struck his head on the floor. The injuries sustained led to the child's death.
The case will be heard by the Chkalovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg. The woman is charged with causing death by negligence.
