The profession of a cook has become one of the most in-demand in the regions of the Ural Federal District. The largest staff shortage is observed in Sverdlovsk Oblast, which accounts for 41% of all vacancies across the Urals. This was reported to URA.RU by analysts from the HH.ru service.
— From January to November 2025, around 20 thousand vacancies for cooks, bakers and pastry chefs were posted in the Ural Federal District. The greatest number of openings for qualified kitchen specialists falls to Sverdlovsk Oblast, the experts noted.
The average salary for cooks in Sverdlovsk Oblast is 60.5 thousand rubles. It was earlier reported that Sverdlovsk Oblast is experiencing shortages of specialists in retail trade, as well as in medicine and pharmaceuticals.
