T2 continues to expand the capabilities of its digital services, going beyond standard telecom offerings. Subscribers now have the ability to personalize the network name in the phone’s status bar by adding an emoji or short text. The displayed name can be changed an unlimited number of times — for a monthly subscription fee.
The new service continues an initiative started almost a year ago. In December 2024, T2 was the first in the global telecom industry to add New Year emojis to the network name for all its users. The initiative drew a wide response from subscribers. According to user feedback, they enjoyed seeing not just a technical designation of the operator on their device, but an element that reflected mood and personal expression.
The service is available in the latest version of the T2 mobile app in the “Profile” section. Open the menu under the user name in the top left corner of the screen and select “Change Network Name.” Activation will take a few seconds, and changes to the network name will be displayed automatically within 24 hours.
Andrey Borzov, Director of Product and Customer Experience at T2:
“We have long noticed how users try to turn even the simplest technical elements of their digital experience into a means of self-expression. Almost a year ago, when we were the first in the industry to add New Year emojis to the network name, the reaction from subscribers exceeded all expectations: people shared screenshots, discussed favorite symbols, and asked us to keep them longer. That inspired us to go further — not just to offer ready-made options, but to give everyone the opportunity to create their own personal name. Now anyone can choose an emoji to match their mood or add a short word or phrase — whether it’s a name, slogan, or any message meaningful to them. It’s a small but important detail that makes everyday interaction with technology a little warmer.”
