Security forces cordoned off the area near a Yekaterinburg factory because of a child's pencil case.

      On the evening of November 20, security forces cordoned off the area near the Uraltransmash plant. Law enforcement ruled out any danger to residents. This was reported by the head of the press service of the Sverdlovsk Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Valery Gorelykh.

      "The reason for the Interior Ministry's emergency response was an unattended item discovered by passersby. Detectives, like ordinary citizens, also do not have the right to inspect suspicious finds. The police always call in bomb disposal experts. Specialists from the Ural Vympel company examined the found item. The explosive ordnance disposal technicians determined that there was nothing criminal inside the found object," Colonel Gorelykh said.

      According to him, the commotion was caused by an ordinary children's pencil case with pens and pencils.

      For the record, in early October several factories in Yekaterinburg were urgently evacuated.
