Doctors in the Sverdlovsk Region saved a newborn girl who was born weighing only 370 grams. This was announced by the deputy governor and Minister of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, Tatyana Savinova, during a live broadcast on regional TV.
"The girl is now six years old; she is alive and quite healthy," Savinova said.
According to her, around 30,000 babies are born in the region each year before the 35th week of pregnancy. Of these, roughly 200 are preterm infants with an extremely low birth weight — under one kilogram.
