Yekaterinburg authorities said how many more stops will be installed in the city.

      Maxim Chaplygin, director of the city’s consumer market department, admitted a shortage of bus stop shelters. According to him, Yekaterinburg is short of 79 shelters.

      Chaplygin said that 60 shelters are planned to be installed by the end of 2025, and the remaining ones should be installed in 2026.

      Deputy Sergei Kozlov admitted that within a few hours he received several dozen complaints and requests from residents about the lack of shelters. In total, 234 illegal kiosks with canopies at bus stop complexes have been dismantled in the city. The mayor’s office wants to demolish another 129 stops. Incidentally, only 155 stops were installed this year.

      According to the authorities’ plans, 150 million rubles will be allocated in 2026 to install another 150 bus stop complexes. The funds will be distributed through the beautification program by city districts, the EAN publication clarifies.

      Earlier it was reported that the installation of stops in Yekaterinburg may be delayed.
