In Yekaterinburg the grave of People's Artist of the RSFSR Galina Umpelieva was robbed. Golden roses were stolen from the monument at the Shirokorechenskoye Cemetery. This was reported by historian and tour guide Tatyana Mosunova.
"At the Shirokorechenskoye Cemetery vandals stole the golden roses from the grave of People's Artist of Russia Galina Umpelieva," Mosunova wrote on her Telegram channel.
Umpelieva died in 2016. The funeral took place on the Artists' Alley of the Shirokorechenskoye Cemetery.
The actress was born in Troitsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, into an acting family. She studied at the Kirov School and then at the Kirov Aviation Technical College. In 1962 she joined the Sverdlovsk Theatre of Young Spectators, and in 1968 the troupe of the Sverdlovsk Drama Theatre, where she performed for 48 seasons. She also taught at the Yekaterinburg Theatre Institute, Ura.Ru reports.
