Former Sverdlovsk Region health minister Andrey Karlov has taken one of the senior management positions at LLC "Agrocomplex 'Gornouralsky'," considered one of the largest pig-breeding complexes in the region.
According to a source at Ura.Ru, the ex-minister decided himself to change his field of activity.
"Karlov distanced himself from a medical career, seeking in his old age to find a calmer calling in his native region. This led him to a pig farm, where he became a deputy. Although he was offered medical positions in other regions, he refused," the agency insider said.
Another source at the publication added that the decision on his appointment was made taking into account "his experience working in a large system and his understanding of the specifics of regulatory requirements."
Karlov was head of the Sverdlovsk Ministry of Health since 2020 and resigned in April 2025 after the arrival of Denis Pasler. The new governor was the first to dismiss him and appointed his ally Tatyana Savinova to the position; she took the post of deputy governor.
