The grocery basket in Sverdlovsk Oblast has become significantly more expensive.
The cost of the minimum food basket in 2025 in Sverdlovsk Oblast rose by 870 rubles. This conclusion follows from data from Rosstat and Sverdlovskstat.
According to Rosstat, the cost of the minimum food basket on average across Russia in December 2025 was about 6,350 rubles, having increased over the year by 12–14%. In Sverdlovsk Oblast, according to Sverdlovskstat, the rise was even more pronounced. Thus, on December 1, 2024 the minimum basket in the region cost 5,980 rubles, and on December 1, 2025 its cost reached 6,850 rubles. Thus, over the past year the food basket became more expensive by 870 rubles (14.5%), clarifies the Ura.Ru agency.
Meanwhile, fruits and vegetables rose the most in price in the Middle Urals. Prices for potatoes, onions, carrots and apples jumped by 18–25%. Milk, sour cream and cheeses went up by 15–20%. And wheat bread, buckwheat and oat groats increased in price by 12–17%. But that’s not all: eggs and poultry meat soared in price over the year by 10–15%.
Recall that shortly before the New Year basic food products in Sverdlovsk Oblast once again sharply increased in price.
