      January 18, 2026. Today, January 18, a Yekaterinburg court determined the measure of restraint for businessman Nikolai Ermakov, accused of an attempted organization of the murder of his former partner.

      The investigator’s request to arrest the defendant was considered by the Ordzhonikidzevsky District Court of Yekaterinburg. Earlier, on January 15, Ermakov’s period of preliminary detention was extended until January 18, wrote the Telegram channel “Apparatnaya.”

      Today the court chose for the detainee a measure of restraint in the form of detention in custody until and including March 11, 2026. The court’s ruling will enter into legal force in three days unless appealed by the parties.

      According to the Joint Press Service of the Courts of the Sverdlovsk Region, the man is accused by the preliminary investigation bodies under Part 3 of Art. 30, Part 3 of Art. 33, para. “zh” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — “Attempt to organize a murder committed by a group of persons by prior agreement.”

      Recall that on the first working day after the long New Year holidays, January 12, Ermakov’s former partner, who has four children with him, was attacked by an unknown person. On the territory of a residential complex in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district the attacker doused her with a caustic liquid.

      The woman was taken to hospital with burns. The victim believes that Ermakov organized the attack.

      In the media Nikolai Ermakov is named one of the leaders of the “Dondiki” group, which controls a significant share of the funeral services market in Yekaterinburg and is known for waging wars with competitors, including through illegal methods such as arson and beatings. Ermakov himself presents himself as a public figure and the owner of the online publication “Ermak-Media.”
