In Yekaterinburg, police are investigating reports that an ATV was towing children.

The Yekaterinburg Traffic Police are conducting an investigation into a media report about the dangerous transport of children on an ATV, the regional agency said.

The incident took place in Shirokaya Rechka in Yekaterinburg, where an unknown ATV driver attached two inflatable tubes and was towing children along public roads.

"The driver's actions pose a direct threat to life and health. The inspection will establish all the circumstances of the incident. Operating an off‑road vehicle on public roads, carrying passengers in violation of the rules (without helmets), and especially towing tubes with children — this is not 'entertainment', but a flagrant combination of violations of the traffic rules. Such irresponsibility regularly leads to tragedies, severe injuries and fatalities," the agency said.

All violations recorded in the published materials will be thoroughly examined, and the persons responsible will be held accountable in accordance with the law, the Traffic Police promised.

"Several publications have speculated about the possible size of any fine, which may mislead readers and do not reflect the full gravity of the offense. The Traffic Police recommends that journalists refrain from premature judgments and base their work on official information from law enforcement representatives," the Traffic Police urged media representatives.
