In the city center, the building of a legendary restaurant will be demolished to make way for a high-rise.

In the historic center of Yekaterinburg, plans are underway to demolish the building of the well-known restaurant "Harbin." The site beneath it, as well as the adjacent territory where the "Deli" hotel once stood, will be developed with office real estate, reports the portal 66.RU.

City authorities have presented a project for the integrated development of the site on the former locations of "Harbin" and "Deli." According to the documentation, the restaurant building will be dismantled, and a multifunctional public complex with underground parking will be built in its place. On the plot where the "Deli" hotel used to be, the construction of an office and business center and parking is planned. Development of the Harbin site is scheduled to be completed by 2030, while construction on the former hotel plot is expected to be finished by 2035. Project details have not yet been disclosed.

At the same time, the mayor's office proposes developing the adjacent block behind the Ryazanov estate — an ensemble of cultural heritage sites. It is proposed that a building for scientific and educational activities be erected there.
