Scammers are calling Sverdlovsk residents posing as courier service employees.
Scammers began calling Sverdlovsk residents offering to receive a letter if they provided the code from an SMS.
“They called from an unknown number that appeared as Spanish. A woman on the other end of the line introduced herself as a courier service specialist,” an Ural resident told EAN.
According to him, the fake employee said that he would soon receive a notification about the receipt of a letter from the Department of Labor and Employment of the Sverdlovsk Region. After that she asked him to give the code from the SMS so that the letter would be sent to the post office address rather than delivered by a postman.
Earlier it was reported that scammers had begun offering Russians an “unlimited” WhatsApp.
