A teenager who stabbed a 47-year-old woman is only charged with attempted murder.

      The suburban district court has placed a teenager accused of attempting to murder a woman in custody for the second time.

      The fifteen-year-old is accused of attempting to murder a local resident. The victim died from her injuries, but the teenager has not been charged with murder, reports the Unified Press Service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region on its Telegram channel.

      The suburban district court today, January 21, considered the investigator's petition and chose a measure of restraint for the accused in the form of detention until March 6, 2026. The court's ruling has not yet entered into legal force.

      Previously, the same court had placed the minor under house arrest, but the teenager violated the restrictions.

      It was previously reported that during the interrogation, the detainee could not explain why he stabbed the woman. There are no known conflicts between him and the victim's daughter. She states that her mother and the accused were not acquainted.

      A study conducted by RIA Novosti indicates that the crime rate in Russia is decreasing, but the number of serious and particularly serious crimes is increasing.
