A sentence for sexual violence was handed down in Yekaterinburg to a former instructor of the Suvorov Military School.

      The sentence for the former educator of the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School, accused of sexual violence against a student, was delivered on Wednesday, January 21, by the Chkalovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg.

      The charges against Vladimir Sh. were brought under paragraph "a" of part 3 of article 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violent sexual acts against a minor"). As established by the court, the educator invited the minor student to his dacha to steam in the bath, where he committed sexual acts against him.

      The defendant did not admit his guilt. However, the court issued a verdict based on the totality of the evidence presented in the case, finding Vladimir Sh. guilty and sentencing him to 8 years in a general regime colony.

      In addition, Vladimir Sh. is required to pay the victim 200,000 rubles as compensation for moral damage. After his release, he will be subject to restrictions on his freedom for a period of one and a half years.

      The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and can be appealed within 15 days.
